My family and I have stayed here many Waitangi weekends as a reminder of my Grandfather who passed away.
The campground is always a happy place to be. The bathrooms are always clean and tidy.
There is never a dull moment at the camp. Including myself waking up in the middle of the night to a nearby farmers Foxy dog in my bed. Managed to open the zip to the tent all by herself! She's always a welcome site at the campground.
The people who run the campsite are lovely and always helpful.
Nothing beats a Marokopa Sunset! And nothing beats doing some bombs in the estuary too!
Always a blast staying here.
Myself and four kids had a great time here. I stayed in the cabin and the kids put up tents. Lots of room. Good value for money. Yvette was a lovely host, friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge. Campsite was well equipped. The cafe had best curly fries. Will be back.
My family and I have been camping at Marokopa Camping ground, every Summer for 7 years. There have been up to 22 of us Adults and children. The camping ground is always well maintained by Hugh and Evette. Lawns always looking good, campsites easy to find and roomy for our tents and vehicles, toilets and showers cleaned and restocked daily . Some of us family have booked a caravan or a cabin during the year as well to go fishing which have always had equipment essential for our stays even an extra blanket in the lockers (thanks Evette). We surfcast and catch Kahawai and some of us have caught the odd snapper or trevally. We don't own a boat or quadbikes. now we have a second hand Mazda truck that we can take onto the beach, although we still walk to the beach with our children, they can still swim in the estuary. Marokopa is the bomb our closest sanctuary to nature after the city yay!!!
