Don't take Malaysia Airlines. I had very very bad experience with it. On my way to India, flights got delayed for 2 days and I missed 2 days from my holidays. While returning to New Zealand as well, flight delayed for 7hrs in Kuala Lumpur and no proper arrangement was made for us. By the time we reached Melbourne from Kuala Lumpur, I missed my connecting flight to Auckland. Finally reached Auckland but 3 baggage out of 4 were lost and its been 4 days, still no clue about my baggage. Very very worst disgusting airlines.
Been trying to web check in for me and my family nearly 100times since the 48 hrs after getting an email that I can do web check in. No luck, been getting the same message "we cannot find your booking". Very frustrating and spoke to customer care twice who advised that there seems to be a technical fault and they cant do anything from their side.
Recently flew from Auckland to Jakarta. Flight was late taking off and no inflight entertainment as my system didn't go. On arrival in Jakarta no baggage. We were supposed to be leavig Jakarta next day. Had to change our holiday plans until luggage arrived.When it did arrive the case was broken so we had to purchase a new case. Not happy. Tried to contact air Malaysia but they refused to answer the phone or reply to email.
On flight home flight was late and we missed our connecting flight. Had to spend an extra night in Kuala Lumpur and missed our Nz flights. Terrible service on the flight. Weren't even offered a glass of water for over 6 hours.
I recently spoke to malaysia airlines as I had issue with online checkin. When i called them they said I don't need to checkin now as I have already booked assistance for that ticket and that assistant will look after checkin as well, but when my mom approached assistant, she said it is not her job to check in. My mom has to go and do it herself. The information wasn't right by the customer service.
My luggage was lost for a week when I travelled Malaysia Airlines. I have not been able to get compensation or even an apology. Every time I've called or emailed they ask me to contact someone else or they say they will get back to me and haven't. I've been trying to sort this out for over a month. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and care.
Some of the planes are bit dated but hey, they get you there. Toilets are always clean even on the 12 hour plus flights. Good food and great service. Check in runs well. Only issue i have had is inbound flights late (u can see on the arrivals board) this one late by 2 hours but staff at check in said only one. In fact it was three hours due to refuel clean etc. People are ok with delays as long as they know what to expect. Got to KL and was no issue getting on a later flight, bagaged even turned up ! Overall a good service KL airport is nice as well as a transit port. nice outdoor area and even the organised trips out if you have time.
