This is a good place for casual dinner with friends. Environment is quite impressive and food is awesome. Staff is helpful and enthusiastic too. On the downside, the food is generally more expensive than usual and there is no free parking either.
Lone Star Newmarket used to be really really good, but at some point it started to become quite disappointing! Last time I went there I waited for an hour to get a seat for 6 people, and it wasn't like the restaurant was super busy, I could see some available tables during the entire hour! And..where was that ridiculously large plate of juicy pork riblet!? quantity and quality all went down with the same price!
Great food and very generous portions! Good place to go for dinner if you didn't have lunch! Nice atmosphere and a menu with enough to choose from. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but if you're prepared to walk 2 minutes you'll find something nearby - and there are heaps of public transport options too.
Came here for dinner and wasn't particulaly impressed. To start with the lighting was really really low, so low that we were unable to read our menus and had to ask to be moved to a different table where there was a light above it. The meals were overpriced and very average. The mussell entre was $16 and only had 6 mussells! The prawns in the main definately tasted like they'd just been taken out of the freezer and microwafed to defrost. Definately won't go back.
If you are hungry this is the place to go! The food portions here are massive and the service is quite friendly. If you are booking a table for a group try organise everyone to turn up together because you can't be seated until everyone has arrived..there is a small bar area to order drinks and wait in however. I had the lasso of hog which was nice, it was so huge I had no room for the coleslaw or potatoes!
