Great range of products from furniture (Indoor/outdoor) to electronics and home appliances. They do not always have the best price available for some products but they are willing to negotiate the price with you. The range and quality available in store is very nice. They also offer printing and photo services at reasonable prices. We have been going to Harvey Norman's off/on for many years now. Some of their staff are Absolutely fantastic, while others, well not so fantastic. We have had some really Great experiences with staff and services provided, but then again we have also had some not so great experiences. Perhaps a little more Customer Service etiquette could be applied to staff training.
Sales Team are efficient with describing the products you are enquiring about. They give full descriptions that match your needs and assist you throughout the store on products you are looking for. Awesome customer service for a Retail store with loads of quality ranges to choose from.
Sensational service. Jacob helped me with a problem with my sound system which resulted in a no sale for Harvey Norman. But I will be back when I need to buy anything speaker! He then went on to make my day and replace my broken wrist band on my Jawbone step counter at no charge. Wow ! Talk about looking after the customer.
If you want good customer service from the furniture department then DON'T go to Harvey Norman Hastings Branch.
I was visiting my son in May this year I had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a lounge suite as a gift to my son to complete his renovations.
I saw the perfect corner model and asked the salesman if it was available in a smaller seating with a left hand chaise. "No problems" said the salesman and then we agreed to a 'cash price' and a delivery date of November. My only reservation to this sale was the unprofessinalism of the salesman who told me he was "tired and his daughters had kept him up all night" not really what a customer wants to hear.
Once I returned home to Australia I had a 'bad feeling' about the sale so asked my son to go into the store and confirm that everything was ordered correctly. He did so and was told "everything was in order".
HOWEVER come November he contacted Harvey Norman asking where his lounge suite was and they said it had arrived 10 days ago but they didn't have a contact phone number (they did). He rented a truck and went to the delivery depot during his lunch break and was given a right hand chaise AND THAT WAS ALL!!
So that was wrong so he immediately went into the store and confronted the salesman only to be told that "they (the manufacturers) had got it wrong" BUT we'll put it right however it will be another 15 weeks delay and "Oh by the way I missed quoted the price and it will be another $1000!!!!!
NOT HAPPY and yes a very irate Mum rang the salesman and told him my dissatisfaction and YES I want my money back. This was done the next day!
There is a happy ending. My son went to another furniture retailer in Napier saw a similar lounge suite in the same leather fabric, $400 cheaper and they had one in stock in Wellington and was delivered in 5 days!!!
Thumbs down to the girl at the photo centre today who was rude and grumpy. Came in with the kids to have a photo taken with father christmas. I went to pay as I had chosen a pay option and she rudely pointed out she had no change for my $20. She then stormed away. I wondered if I should follow with my two children in tow and thought okay. She muttered under her breath to another staff member before finally taking my $20 and giving me change. It doesn't take much to say "come over to this till and i'll serve you here" Such a shame as we generally find Harvey Norman great to deal with.
