Worst fish n chips ever! $25 for a dozen mussels the size of an old 50c piece, a fish which was broken into 5 pieces, a tiny burnt ("large") spring roll and 1.5 scopes of chips which were more like a handful. All cooked in cold oil, the wrapping was literally dripping with oil.
Would've been better off getting someones left overs out of the bin outside...
Took pictures we were so disgusted!
Well known in Halswell as a very pricey fish and chip shop, however I thought I would give them a try as my local (Nottingham) was closed. Sadly I will not go back, expensive as expected but was very surprised and disappointed in the size of the scoop (I actually queried whether it was a half scoop and was told they had small scoops as they purchased their chips rather than make their own like the competition). I suggested it might be worthwhile mentioning that on the sign so people knew they were half scoops and was informed they had been around for 19 years so was not a problem. Fish also very small and expensive. I would suggest using other local fish and chip shops if possible or even going outside Halswell if you need a decent sized meal. Pretty amazing in this day and age with competition and the ability to write public reviews that businesses wont lift their game and at least be clear / honest with their menu ie their scoop is considerably smaller than the norm.. On a positive the young man who initially took my order was a pleasant chap:)
