i have dined here a couple of times, but although the food is nice, it is a tad expensive. Also the last time i was there we had a problem with hair in one of the quiches. i was trying to be discreet and the individual i spoke to understood this was the case, but the owner attempted to make an excuse rather than just accepting what i said. we all have something to learn, & i don't mind if cafes recognize this, but this owner probably found it embarrassing. no problem i would go back they just need to be a little more honest with themselves.
this is an upmarket cafe, that welcomes everyone. one of the best features which i think should be followed by other cafes is their attention to hygeine. they encourage people to use a hand sanitizer provided. what a great idea. my husband & i dined here for our 19th, and had a lovely brunch.
My coffee was clearly over extracted and I told the owner (you could even smell it was burnt!) Who then decided to argue with me. In the end he remade it (he was not happy about it) and it was the same again. All this fuss over, what, 30 cents tops? We have not been back.
The staff were lovely however the milkshake was watery and you could taste the ice frost on the ice cream used. They also did not clean the machine between milkshakes so if you ordered strawberry u got chocolate bits in your shake. The salad was a huge piece of frilly lettuce that tasted like it had been soaked in onion and a few small bits of tomato etc on top. Was disappointed with the food sadly.
