Be careful with the so-called "deposit", you are risking not being able to get a full refund back even though you do everything things right as a guess. Goodstays does find excuses to charge extra and deducted from your deposit without an agreement..
Our terrible experience:
They had confirmed to provide 6 single beds for us on the phone booking but end up provided 1 dual king bed and two king size bed. We had to apart the dual king bed into two single beds and move a draw (size of a small bedside table) away from the couch so that one person can use the couch for sleeping. After all, all furniture still in the same room. They charged us an additional fee on moving furniture from the original place.
They well knew our group has 6 adults and would stay for 4 days/3 nights; however, they provided only one small general rubbish bin (approximately 35x30x30cm). Rubbish started overfull on the third day morning. We had to keep the overfull rubbish in rubbish bags to keep the place clean and left them on the kitchen floor for their collection on the last day. They charged us another additional "cleaning fee" while they had already charged us $240 Exit Clean on the booking date.
They replied us that they could not find any record on their computer that we had requested for 6 single beds. It is not clients’ responsivity to stand next to your employee to make sure information they key into the computer is completed and accurate. They also blamed us not to inform them that the rubbish was not big enough! Absolutely ridiculous! All other holiday houses we stayed had provided extra large rubbish bin. It is not our responsibility to teach you how to run and manage holiday house business.
Our group of people are all middle age and had stayed at different holiday houses prior to our arrival in Queenstown. Feedback from other property managers is all positive and appreciative. Myself have travelled throughout North and South Inland in NZ for a decade, never have had such unfair treatment.
Goodstays see how much negative feedback on your service already! Shame on you. You are giving a bad name to NZ tourist industry!
