You can tell from the second you walk into the door melisa doesn't care about her business. The store is completely overcrowded and there is no way the store is organised. Aswell as she simply brushes off every question and is texting on her phone. As the company has shut down I'll doubt we will get our goods as she has blocked off her phone, website and her Facebook (Instagram is open though) it appears if we want something we will be needing to take her to court. Such a shame.
I purchased some items to be delivered to Auckland Airport. They were only delivered after much pestering and with shoddy and inadequate packing. The goods arrived damaged. Melisa brushed me off and refused any responsibility or to check the goods. In the end I took the case to to the disputes court on North Shore. Her performance at the court was a story in itself.
Long story short, she lost the case and had to replace one item, refund another item and pay for my assessors report. And also the fee for the baliff that had to be sent to collect the sum ordered by the court.
Steer well clear of this place!!!!
Couldn't agree with 'Chris T' more "no follow up service whatsoever", but worse - we bought a leather sofa from this shop, paid for it in full prior to delivery, and everything turned into a nightmare from then on. The cushions had marks in the leather that didn't look right, and certainly weren't there on the display models. When we brought this to the attention of the owner, Melisa Davies she accused us of causing the damage ourselves, refusing even to get someone (a leather expert) to ascertain the cause of the marks. It gets worse when you take into account what we were told in the store prior to purchase "aged Italian leather sofa, that we bring in by container load to give these great discount prices" - turns out they buy them from a NZ distributer who gets them from China! Again 'Chris T' has it spot on "I recommend shopping with more reputable traders".
This shop has an interesting range of home ware, but no follow up service whatsoever. I purchased (and paid for) an expensive hand crafted item which they promptly double sold before I could return later the same day to pick it up. They steadfastly refused to refund my money, offering only to supply a "similar" substitute unit. The substitute unit which was delivered several weeks later, and after much haranguing, was very inferior and we had to have it repaired at our expense before being able to display it. Dealing with Finishing Touches has been a very disappointing experience and I recommend shopping with more reputable traders.
