This is nearly a perfect place for breakfast. Great menu, delicious food, reasonable prices, strong coffee and great service. We loved it so much we had to go again. The eggs were perfectly poached, the sauces finely spiced. The cinnamon brioche was to die for. Fantastic!
We had a pleasant lunch here. The food was good and it's priced at a fine-dining level and so I think it's fair to compare this restaurant to the real deal you'd find in Tokyo. The food was excellent by NZ standards but only average compared to what it could be. I'm rating "very good" to recognise it's good on...
Believe this has something to do with Kokako(?). Not up to the motherships standards if that is the case. Bit more grungy aka grimey. Decent coffee obviously and good food just no wow factor to make me go back. Good enough to keep in the memory bank for future though.
I had the prawn cocktail, which was ok i suppose, but nothing special. Massively overpriced at $18. It was something I could have whipped up myself in 5 minutes with whatever i had left in my fridge. Just really boring. So yeah, I was pretty disappointed. Won't be going there again.
