Good restaurant but food quality isn't the greatest. Nice and big to cater for large groups. Price of food is okay but quantity and quality has constantly decreased over the years.
Dynasty has both a buffet option and an alacarte option. We have had both but my suggestion in to go with the alacarte option. That way the food is cooked fresh and you can modify the dish to your liking (eg. Extra meat)
Buffet option is quick and greasy Chinese food which probably sits under the heat lamps all night as every time we have been there there has been hardly anyone and the staff go around every half hour or so to mix the food so it keeps looking fresh.
To be honest there are may better restaurants in the Porirua area but we will keep coming back as this is where our family has come for years.
Food I would recommend ordering alacarte are stuffed chicken wings (may need to be ordered a day in advance). Everything else is average but the stuffed chicken wings are delicious.
Staff are friendly enough and place is never full so no need to book. Definitely give Dynasty a try for yourself and make your on call whether to return or not.
They also have a takeaway next door and from there I would recommend the Chinese roast and bbq pork.
Last wednesday walked into Dynasty in Porirua as we had a dinner scheduled there and asked the lady there
whether they cooked their food in anything related to beef content ie animal fat etc (because of my ethnicity Hindu).
The lady was'nt too interested in my query and said 'Oh I dont know . I dont know" and responded with some completed
irelevant info and then walked off mumbling in Chinese quite loudly.as I continued talking she walked off and so I waited for
her to return as i hadnt finished my query - to explain the reason/importance of my query ethnic/cultural/ religious reasons
and to provide an adequate answer. I stood there for about 1 minute before she returned and i explained thereason -which
did'nt make any difference to her attitude and again she walked off- mumbling in Chinese.
If she didnt know the answer to the quesiton then ,ok, get somneone who did.
She was'nt interested in my query at all - and disregarded the significance to a potential customer.
Her manner was rude and culturally offensive.
Porirua being the 2nd most diverse city in NZ I was appalled at her attitude toward this.
I noticed the restuarant does'nt have any email address for questions,concerns or to put any feedback in writing.
