The parking here is terrible. You shouldn't have to be worrying about getting a ticket while you're trying to give birth. The staff however are amazing, very caring and professional. They do their best to reassure you and help with all your needs, i couldn't fault the care i received. The food however was shocking, there is no where near enough offered to new mums who are trying to build a milk supply, and alot of it was completely inedible.
I have been here a few times and you need to see which ward the person is in and also it can be hard if you don't know the person's full name like when we had someone in our family as no one called him by his full name. I think that parking can be annoying as you have pay and display and also you have to watch how long you are there or the 5 minute one as it can be annoying at times.
Our daughter was operated on in dunedin hospital . It was major surgery and i was very impressed with the level of care they provided . It was reassuring for us to see them do their utmost to keep her comfortable. We were provided with one parent meal and the food was very good and nutritious.
The only thing i could fault would be how the nurse posted at her door post op would call out or speak very loudly to passing by staff- even late at night- which agitated my daughter when she was in an already terrible state and needing sufficient rest. The other night staff too seem to be very loud and inconsiderate of those needing important rest to re-cooperate.
Apart from that the care was high quality.
