I have to agree with TangerineAwesome's review. Daikoku provides and awesome dining experience. I've been twice and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Such friendly and attentive staff, with personality (a rare find in the hospitality industry). The lunch special is fantastic value for money and I recommend it if you would like to try the restaurant but are worried about the cost. If you're looking for something a little different, this is definitely the place to go.
Daikoku is a delicious dining experience. The teppenyaki (food cooked on a hot plate in front of you) is a unique and entertaining experience for a first time diner. The 'Lunch Time Special' is a popular choice as it's great value for money, the multiple course lunch is only around $12-15, around what I'd usually pay for food inside the Mall without the quality and experience. Daikoku lose half mark as you really need to go with a group of eight friends as each table seats eight and sitting with strangers can be awkward. Otherwise, fantastic restaurant, LTS on the weekend is a whanau favourite.
