This place is small but still wide range of stock and much more convenient location than the bigger countdown near waterfront area. Pretty good fresh fruit and vege section for a small store. Try to avoid peak times (aka when all the city workers get off work and shop before heading home) because the queue can literally get as long as the store, all the way from the front to the milk/eggs section (though the queues do move relatively fast). Other than that, my go to supermarket for price range and convenient location.
Countdown metro is a good option for those looking at more than just a convenience store in the CBD. Obviously not the full size of a regular Countdown, but still the selection is pretty good. Main drawback is that the queues at checkout can get pretty long. Other than that, really good.
It is a very convenient supermarket in the middle of the city, but the stocks always ran out or not all of them are there. It is good place for a quick top-up for grocery, reminder not to go there during peak time because it can get very long queues to check-out.
So great having another supermarket in the city. I used to go and get groceries on my lunch break which was great. It's got a great selection for the size it is. A good tip is that on a Friday they slash the prices on a lot of meat and vegetable products, I suppose there are certain items which aren't heavily purchased by those who live in the area.
