Misinformation, very disappointed in their customer service
While they seemed to be helpful at first they provided conflicting information that in the end needlessly cost us 200 NZD. When we first signed with them, we knew it was for three months - and were told that the first year is non-refundable. However, we also asked whether it would be possible to transfer the insurance to the new owners of our caravan once we sold it - and were told that this was possible. We therefore got the insurance, and three months later put the 'van up on trademe and wrote we throw 9 months of insurance into the bargain, thinking that we could just have ours transcribed, that it would cost us nothing. When the time came, however, the guy we then corresponded with told us that no, the insurance couldn't be transcribed, doubted that we had ever received that information, but then said that we could just have the unused months refunded instead (contrary to his previous information, which was also written on the contract). On this information we went along with the sale and gave the new buyers a 200 NZD discount for the insurance. A few hours later we got another call from the same guy at Campercare, telling us that the remaining months could not be refunded - and slickly reminding us that we had been told that upon first signing (which I had already mentioned in the previous phonecall after receiving the surprising news that a refund was possible...).
Two employees getting vital information wrong, and not showing goodwill after this is pointed out, is not a good sign and I'm glad we did not have to file a claim with such a company. Do yourself a favour and go with Covi or any other of the competition.
