Have had mostly good experiences at Bricklane, recently they have been great. Amazing meals with real large portion sizes, their steaks are super yum. It's a nice cozy restaurant and great to have the option of having a drink at the bar and bar snacks too. The mozzarella risotto balls are amazing! Handy there are pokies beside the bar if you'd like a cheeky gamble. The deserts are delicious and staff are usually pleasant and helpful. I'm Hoping they've sorted wait times as we've had to wait a while on several occasions.
Visited New Year's Eve. Wait staff prompt and helpful but the food was disappointing. Chicken was dry and the pork dish tough. Quality is preferable to quantity on my opinion. As I am coeliac gluten free option should be marked on the menu rather than the waiter having to recite them. Won't be recommending to coeliac society as a place to go.
Usually good food, served in generous quantity, but the premises are now looking tired and in need of a makeover, especially with the Brickworks complex across the road at Lynnmall. Getting a good waiter is hit or miss, they range from bright and helpful to "thick as two planks."
Bricklane has daily specials which are really good. I had a Sunday roast for $17.50 which was really lovely. I chose beef, but lamb and pork were also available. It was beautiful and tender, and came with a good sized portion of vegetables. One night a week you can get any dessert for about $9. It's not uncommon to get meals in the $15 - $20 range, which is very reasonable. Located across the car park from Burger King New Lynn, so it's easy to find - and there's plenty of on-site parking too (always a bonus).
Wine and beer prices are typical West Auckland pub prices - wine around $8 - $11 per glass. Bricklane implement a responsible drinking policy - this is good, as it makes the venue suitable for families, pensioners and others.
Have always had good service and food at Bricklane, which is why I've returned many times over the years for a meal.
