I have been customer of this store for quite some time. Today I bought approx. $65 worth of goods but changed my mind. I was immediately referred to this arrogant manager Jillian Berryman the owner's wife. I said I felt embarrassed the way she was talking to me which she replied "you should be embarrassed for asking for a refund".
Most shops in New Zealand are happy to refund, In the past, I have spent more then the value I purchased today in this shop. Before calling for legal advice on the matter, I asked her if she could write the refusal of refund. She started on paper and when I mentioned that I was going to share her decision on the social media for other people to learn the policies of this shop, she ripped the paper off and chucked it away and walk away in an arrogant manner.
I asked her if I could at least have a copy of the "no policy sign" to which she looked me down and up in an arrogant manner "Would you have a cellphone that you can take a picture of it?" in a pitiful way suggesting I cant afford to have a phone.
She failed to offer any negotiation, or solution such as using the same value for other products to remedy the problem. She had shocking consumer service skills and was embarrassing as other staff listened to this.
Shops have the right the decline refunds, however they must treat customers with dignity at all times.
