Bay of Plenty DHB recognises that dental health is an important the whole family from infants to the older adult. 

Dental (oral) Health Services offered:

+ Preschool child dental health services
+ School age child dental health services
+ Adolescent and hospital dental services
+ A limited range of publicly funded services for adults is available in the Bay of Plenty region. 

For accidents causing facial and dental injuries, please contact the Emergency Department at Tauranga or Whakatane Hospitals or any local dentist.

Bay of Plenty families are encouraged to enrol their children from birth for free regular dental checks and dental treatment for children aged 5 to 8 years old.

Youth are entitled to free checkups  and regular basic dental care from 9 years to their 18th birthday.
