The district is the fastest growing in New Zealand with a population in 2015 of 50,000 - expected to increase to 75,000 by 2031. Major towns include Rolleston, Lincoln, Prebbleton, Darfield and Leeston. It has a rapidly growing economy and supports a flourishing agricultural and rural service sector.

## Council Locations
Council's headquarters are in Rolleston, and service centres are located with libraries at Darfield, Leeston and Lincoln. Along with delivering and maintaining essential infrastructure, the Council provides a huge network of community services and facilities, including Selwyn Aquatic Centre in Rolleston, Lincoln Events Centre and the successful Izone Southern Business Hub.
