We are called 'VU' as it stands for the amazing 'views' you see at our motel. Fully refurbished in November 2016. Proudly located by the lakefront -- one of the best spots in Taupo Staying in VU Thermal Lodge, there are two things you would not forget: 1. The view of the lake and mountains Walking on our massive terraced deck, you will discover that this is a perfect perspective of the lake; sitting down and enjoying the breathtaking sight upon your eyes: the changing colors of the great lake, magnificent snowy mountains, drifting long clouds and unique sunsets created by our beautiful mother nature... your experience would be unforgettable. 2. Natural mineral baths We have a natural thermal bore beneath the property 25 meters down, its average temperature is 72-135 degrees. All guests can enjoy thermal baths either in-room private pools or in a communal bath house , it's free of charge! Great deal compared to other thermal pool entry fees. One different thing about our communal pool is how the set temperatures are stable. We use a thermal-stack instead of keeping check of the water constantly. The thermal-stack automatically adjusts the heat in the pools to ensure that your experience is suitable for you. Thermal water operates twice a day, 7.30am -- 9.30am and 4.00pm -- 11.00pm. *The temperatures of the pools are 37-39C and 40-42C Don't forget to bring two things with you before you come for your stay: A camera and swimming gear. An outdoor pool with fresh water is heated Geo-thermally and regularly serviced by pool specialists, it's around 25 degrees, which is nice and warm in all seasons (during mineral water hours, the swimming pool would be ideally warmer). Having a nice dip in the pool after after a long drive or hiking is definitely relaxing and enjoyable. Recent changes made to our facility are made to enhance the comfort in our service, which includes: Electronic code locks that secure the safety of the rooms and save the risks of losing keys Flat screen TVs, 55 inch and 65 inch of high quality channels *We don't provide SKY channels.
