Martin and Cheryl Cribbin started dentistry over three decades ago practicing successfully in Yorkshire after meeting while studying in the UK. The husband and wife duo set up CM Dental ten years ago - a friendly modern family dental clinic based in Henderson West Auckland; dedicated to helping patients of all ages smile again and the relief of dental pain. 
The main cause of tooth loss in adults is gum disease. Here at CM Dental we aim to prevent future oral health problems for our patients. How we do this is by encouraging our patients to get a regular scale and polish. While educating them in the best preventative home care techniques. Scaling is the thorough removal of plaque and calculus from around teeth. We even offer this service at a discounted rate for our loyal returning patients as an extra incentive to make this a regular part of their dental health regime. 
It is worth mentioning that only in its late stages does gum disease cause pain and the damage is then usually irreparable causing tooth loss. You may require multiple cleaning visits if you have more advanced gum disease, but this will be discussed during your inspection appointment.
If you'd prefer an alternative to fixed braces, CM Dental can also fit custom-made Invisalign aligners. Aligners are tailor made from a clear acrylic to fit your mouth perfectly. The Aligners are almost invisible making aligners a great option for orthodontics in adults too.
CM Dental ltd provide excellent root canal treatments or endodontics using the latest techniques to relieve dental pain and save teeth that otherwise would need a dental extraction. The loss of a tooth can be replaced with cosmetic porcelain bridge work or a dental implant which are more expensive options. Sometimes even a skilled clinician will advise that the tooth cannot be saved long term due to advanced decay or it is fractured.
