Amazing record store! Has a huge selection. Great staff too, which seems to be rare for record places nowadays CHECK THEM OUT!

I've been visiting Groovy since I was a nipper back in the salad-daze of the 80s-Suzuki Vitara's, surfboards and sailing. None of which I could afford so I'd jump on the big yellow Merc from 'Mad Ave', tally my hard earned trolley trundling ca$h, and splash out on some new shiny vinyl boxfresh from the dopest dealers on the block. After rifling for hours through masses of wax you'd nervously fork over your $ ignoring the eyeballin snide clerk (attitudes accepted and reviled by us plebs) hop back on the bus, avoid being 'stepped out' for your Docs by marauding gangs, peel back the plastic, sticker strip, and then once home place that plastic on the platter. To sum up it was an experience a rite of passage and I still get those flashbacks every time I pop in and rummage for vinyl. The record bins are still there slightly thinned out some of the old faces still remain, slightly less thin. It's grand, it's nostalgic, Im old, I'm waffling its what we do. Long live the King of Groove!

easily one of the best store in Auckland, they got almost every music in any hard copy forms, amazing and lots of fun products in the stores.

no longer somewhere to go for records and cd's. Is over priced there but has become an interesting book store and gift shop!
