Aotea Electric began in 1973 with the formation of an electrical contracting company in Dunedin. Growth into other locations was steady until the economic downturn in the mid 1980's saw a decline in the company's size.

The new owners focused on providing a quality based professional delivery utilizing the years of experience already gained by the existing staff. The success of this approach has seen a steady growth, where we now operate businesses in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Westland, Westport, Dunedin, Oamaru, Cromwell, Alexandra, Wanaka, Queenstown, Nelson, Invercargill and Gore.

From idea to execution, management to maintenance, Aotea Electric provides comprehensive electrical services in the commercial, industrial and residential electrical sectors. With 360 full time staff, including over 300 qualified and experienced electricians and tradespeople, Aotea Electric can custom design an electrical solution for any size project - local or national.
