Welcome to The Thistle Inn.

We strive to ensure all our customers leave us happy and having had an enjoyable time with us. The Thistle Inn is the oldest pub in New Zealand, operating on its original site and has been in existence since 1840. We have all day dining from 10am including dinner at night in a very relaxed atmosphere. We will open for breakfast for large groups. Bookings are recommended but not essential. We have a large upstairs covered seating area. Two conference/function rooms with fantastic facilities, and a private dining room. We use local produce and have a great range of beer, both on tap and bottled, spirits and wines including our own organic Middleditch Sauvignon Blanc from Martinborough, which is exclusive to us. The Thistle Inn is the closest bar and restaurant to the Westpac Stadium, and therefore we are in an ideal spot for you to meet with friends and colleagues before or after stadium events. We are just down the road from Old Pauls Cathedral on Mulgrave Street. We are the perfect venue for every occasion, including weddings, birthdays, anniversary parties, wakes and more. Because of our age we offer tours of the premises by arrangement. Come and visit our friendly and professional staff here at The Thistle Inn.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Saturday 10am till late. We also open on Sundays for Stadium events and large bookings.
