The Nelson Osteopathic Clinic, run by Richard Carruthers, a British Trained Osteopath of 25 years experience, provides quality professional osteopathic treatment for back pain, neck pain, headaches and other musculo-skeletal pain in all regions of the body.

Treatment involves deep pressure point massage, followed by manipulation of the joints (optional) and gentle, subtle techniques to ensure balance and healing of the tissues. Treatment fees are $55 adult, $45 child, or with ACC cover, $30 and $20.

Treatment is performed with the patient clothed, and is suitable for all ages, from newborn infants (cranial osteopathy only is utilised) to the elderly (80+). Most acute cases require only 1-4 treatments to make a full recovery.

Richard has attended over 40 post-graduate seminars in London, U.S.A, Belgium, China, France, Australia and New Zealand, has lectured or taught 30 post=graduate courses for the osteopathic profession in London, Belgium, China, Australia and New Zealand, Edited the Journal of the New Zealand Register of Osteopaths for six years, published over 35 osteopathic research papers, and served on various professional osteopathic committees, including council, quality assurance, post-graduate education and complaints committees.
