By The Book.
We pride ourselves on a quality job and a compliant job, everything is done by the book and unfortunately this costs us more, but it's our bread and butter. So for every job we do, if it's under prescribed electrical wiring, requires a compliance certificate which is a legal document. A lot of boys don't write one out, and a lot of customers are unaware that they are entitled to a compliance certificate on every electrical job that gets done.

Same with Heat Pumps...
One common example of cost-cutting is installing heat pumps that are too small. These only last a few years and people don't realise that they're working overtime to heat up too big an area. A lot of the guys don't even commission them. They will just finish the job, and hand over the remote. Few people realise a heat pump should be commissioned correctly and tests carried out to make sure it is working at its optimum performance. When heat pumps require repair or relocation a vast number of these units require the gas to be released before work can be undertaken. Ask your repairer if he has a Reclaim Unit or just releases the gas into our atmosphere. If he answers yes to the latter you need to be aware you are dealing with a cowboy of the industry. Make sure you visually site this Reclaim Unit and don't allow your self to think "the old she'll be right attitude".

Price Wars.
There are a lot of cowboys out there who will undercut us just to get the job. There are lots of shortcuts that other trades people can take to cut costs. There are ways of doing things properly and ways to do things that aren't so proper.

For your own safety and peace of mind, get a compliance certificate every time you get an electrician in. For quality service, give us a call. We are honest and will be still around if something goes wrong, unlike your cheap cowboy who will be long gone and targeting more unsuspecting good kiwi's.
