Aotea Electric began in 1973 with the formation of an electrical contracting company in Dunedin. Growth into other locations was steady until the economic downturn in the mid 1980's saw a decline in the company's size.

The new owners focused on providing a quality based professional delivery utilizing the years of experience already gained by the existing staff. The success of this approach has seen a steady growth, where we now operate businesses in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Westland, Westport, Dunedin, Oamaru, Cromwell, Alexandra, Wanaka, Queenstown, Nelson, Blenheim, Invercargill and Gore.
