The Redwood Kindergarten and Daycare is situated in the rural plains of Havelock North. Our daily curriculum has been developed in collaboration with the children to ensure a balance between Discovery Learning, Core Learning, Active Movement, 4 year old Kindergarten programme, 3 year old Kindergarten programme, meal times and sleep/rest/quiet times.

Discovery Learning - through Discovery learning children have open ended opportunities to make their own discoveries and explore their own natural curiosity and inquiry into the world around them. During this time we empower the children to make their own choices of activities.

Core Learning is a time where children learn in group situations and engage in teacher directed instructions. Activities focus on the alphabet, alphabet recognition, letter sound, high frequency words, literacy, numeracy, science and active movement. When children are ready and willing, Core Learning strengthens children's transtion by consolidating their existing knowlege and preparing them for the next step in their on-going learning journey.
