About Us

No Ordinary Homebased Childcare and Nanny Service!

Kids at Home started in 2002 when a Mum with twins could not find childcare to suit her needs. The first provider to be fully licensed under The Ministry of Education's new regulations, Kids at Home offers a quality, extremely flexible home-based education and nanny service where parents don't have to pay too much.

Why else should you consider Kids at Home?

1. Individual, personalised attention - children in childcare centres are often overwhelmed by large numbers - Kids at Home's educators care for just four children under the age of five only two of which may be under two years old.

2. Immediate feedback - when you collect your child at the end of the day you receive immediate feedback on your child's day what they did, what they achieved etc.

3. Closer relationships - because of regular and close contact and small groups, children quickly bond with educators/nannies - their families often become good friends.

4. WINZ and other subsidies - Kids at Home is licensed by the Ministry of Education and can therefore access WINZ, 20 Hours ECE and other subsidies.

5. Highest standards - qualified ECE Teachers visit each child and educator/nanny monthly to offer resources, assistance and advice.

6. Safety - All educators/nannies are Police and CYFS-checked and interviewed for suitability by our Visiting Teachers. Prior to starting with us, all homes where care will be undertaken undergo an extensive premises check for safety and suitability for young children.

7. Toy and book library - every month your child has access to entertaining and age-appropriate puzzles, books, toys, trains, ride-on bikes and lots more!

8. Learning portfolio - your educator/nanny documents your child's progress, skills and development while in care.

9. Free weekly, fortnightly and monthly groups – Kids at Home recognise the importance of social and peer interaction outside the home-based environment as well. Children love our weekly play and music groups and fortnightly gymnastics groups. Parents love these extras and the fact they’re FREE.

10. Free regular fun-filled excursions to the fire station, donkey farms and more!

11. We have offices in Te Awamutu (291 Vaile Street) and Hamilton (1 Gillies Avenue, Claudelands.) Parents and families are welcome to pop in at any time.

For an extremely economical solution to your family's childcare needs, call us today!

P.S. Parents - did you know you could earn a side income looking after your own children plus one or two others? Ask us about this!
