The Shirley McDouall School of Dance offer classes in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Tap and Adult. The school has been operating successfully in Whanganui for over 60 years. A number of students have moved onto careers in dance with many hundreds of students passing through the school. Students are trained in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus in Ballet and in Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus in Modern.

Danceworks is proud to be one of the largest, most successful dance schools in the Manawatu. From fun classes to professional dance careers we have the teachers and class to suit you.

We offer classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Conditioning and Stretching, Ballroom for Adults, Competition Work and Hip-hop. We cater for children and adults, including beginner, intermediate, advanced and graded classes.

Examinations are available for children, and all students have the opportunity to participate in our end of year productions.

Classes are held Monday to Friday from 3.30 until late evening, and all day Saturday.
